Lynk & Co 09 is a premium hybrid SUV with market based in China. It competes with other EVs for its large touch screen, and infotainment system that connects users to the vehicle information, entertainment system and features.
However, the car’s product manager came to us with user’s complains, for the overcomplicated information architecture within the interface, and the outdated UI interaction that cannot fit in the trend of 2.5D. Accordingly, for this project, my role is to brainstorm redesign solutions that can address the complains and concerns, thereby possibly inspire the company design team.

People between 25 - 45, who often spend hours on driving daily, for work, roadtrip, and/or camping with family and friends.
2.5D effect — full filling the specific request from Lynk design team, the interaction method helps users understand and navigate through the information architecture. Horizontal layout & interaction fit the screen's landscape orientation, taking full advantage of the large touch surface, and providing more information to users so that they can grasp the infos efficiently.
With the project, I had a deeper understanding of how user experience is greatly influenced by the environment within which the interaction is performed. In such case, users — drivers are not able to perform complex interaction on the screen, whether the interaction or sizes of the UI elements have been designed for the circumstance for a better assistance. I also adopted the system's current design choices, so that my solution can be seamlessly integrated into the existing design.
The interaction I designed for Lynk to help users navigate through the infotainment system, and the 2.5D effect, the layout design according to the screen orientation are not only valuable and inspiring to me, it also received positive feedback from the company. The learning experience of design and problem solving is one of the best things that I can carry with me forward.
